Apple iOS 16.4: All Details
Like every other update from Apple, this iOS 16.4 update also aimed to bring various enhancements to the user experience, fixes for bugs, and, most importantly, security updates.
One of the significant upcoming in this update is 21 new emojis for the Apple emoji keyboards that are based on animals, hand gestures, objects, and more.
Besides, these emojis are now also available in iPadOS 16.4 and macOS Ventura 13.3.
And another prominent feature is Voice Isolation; you can understand it as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) but only for calls. As Apple explained, this feature will prioritize your voice on cellular calls and eliminate ambient noise.
Apple is adding notifications for web apps for iPhone users as they can also add these web apps from Safari to their Home Screens.
With all these changes, Apple also expanded support for its feature to detect duplicate photos in Photos and videos in an iCloud Shared Photo Library so users can easily identify them.
Besides, Apple also improved its recently launched Crash Detection feature for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models, which were reported to be a lack of concentration as it was calling emergency even on amusement park rides.
With iOS 16.4, Apple also released iPadOS 16.4, macOS Ventura 13.3, and tvOS 16.4. And Apple’s this update supports all the same iPhone models that Apple listed as supported for iOS 16.
You can install this update from Settings > General > Software Update and can also check out the complete changelog from Apple on the support page.
