Google is updating Chrome browser across all platforms as it got infected with some vulnerabilities. The update will be rolled out soon for Windows, Mac and Linux platform. Google has confirmed that the vulnerability ‘CVE-2020-6457’ was found earlier.
The Company also announced that a stable channel had been updated for all the versions, so you have to update your Google Chrome to version 81.0.4044.113. In this update, Company has confirmed that vulnerability has got fixed.
On 15th April Google has posted,
“Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix.”
The Company also added that,
“retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.”
Google has not shared any details on this, but they have just confirmed that the name of vulnerability CVE-2020-6457 and describing it they have said: “Use after free in speech recognizer.”
In a report, Forbes stated that once a “use after free vulnerability” is triggered after visiting any malicious web page, The computer system of user can easily be compromised. Google has rated that the risk was higher with this vulnerability.
